There are different kinds, such as lacking a social network, lacking close emotional bonds, or feeling lonely after life changes.

Gallery 2: Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural emotional response to stress or perceived threat. It becomes a problem when it is excessive,
frequent, or interferes with daily life.

Clinical anxiety includes disorders like generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, and specific phobias, but at core anxiety is an overactive worry-and-arousal response that prepares the body for danger even when the danger is modest or imagined.

What is fear?

Fear is a basic, adaptive emotional response to a real and immediate danger. It triggers the body’s rapid “fight, flight, or freeze” reactions so you can respond quickly to a threat.

Unlike anxiety, which often involves future-oriented worry, fear is focused on something present and specific, such as a loud noise, an approaching animal, or a dangerous situation.
